While attending an editorial at the iconic pink bar inside Hotel Bennett, we stepped into a reception scene designed to feel less posed and more lived in. The setting was Camellias, known for its blush interiors, marble bar, and refined Charleston atmosphere.
This Charleston wedding editorial was hosted by luxury photographer David Abel alongside K Bella Events, bringing together high end design and intentional reception styling inside one of Charleston’s most recognizable wedding venues.

We photographed the entire scene using direct flash.

Adding to the Southern influence was Bradley Carter from the Bravo series Southern Hospitality. He stepped into the groom role for this editorial, posing alongside two models as bride and bridesmaid.
The focus was not celebrity for attention. It was about presence and personality within the scene.
The bride and groom danced near a champagne tower. The bridesmaid joined in. Drinks clinked. Flash popped. It felt like the height of a luxury Charleston wedding reception at Hotel Bennett.

A champagne tower anchored the reception design, catching the flash in a way that made the entire bar glow. Stacked coupe glasses reflected light across the marble and blush interior, creating images that felt vibrant and alive.
The florals were lush and layered. Romantic but modern. Designed to complement the historic elegance of Hotel Bennett while still feeling fresh.
And the bridesmaid reception dress. Truly unforgettable. A statement piece made for movement. I am seeing more of my Cincinnati and Kentucky brides incorporate a second reception look, and this editorial showed exactly why. When you can move freely, the energy shifts and the photos show it.
